Rain

There has been an awful lot of rain since I’ve been here. I have not been able to forage for firewood as often as I would like, but I have got some. On occasions, it’s been a bit nippy and I’ve therefore had the burner going during the day, particularly when also wet.

One morning, at around 5am., I was awoken by the sound of dripping. The main skylight had sprung a leak! I grabbed a bucket. Later that morning, having not been able to rest, I got up. I knocked over the bucket - twice!! Unsurprisingly, I was rather ratty that day. I had to unsheet the back of the truck to get the things I needed to stop the flow of water. I quickly found the problem. As the plastic internal frame had not been replaced after the original one broke, the movement of opening and closing the hatch had weakened the bond. I managed to shore up temporarily. It stopped raining the next day and continued dry into weekend. As Saturday was such a nice day, I made a better job of sealing the leak in the dry.

I managed to chat with Karen, the lady who had written to me about my blog. We had quite a chat about what needed to be done to improve the experience of logging on to my blog. The main issue being the fact that it is a real hassle to have to keep scrolling down in order to read the blog in chronological order. Ultimately, we decided to look into the idea of creating an eBook. We also discussed ideas for patreon exclusives. I need to find a way to generate some form of income.

Chatting to Daniel one day, he discovered a way that readers could look for posts based on category. We are in the process of collating that. Hopefully, it will go some way to improving navigating your way around the blog. Let me know what you think.

One day I went for a drive over the downs to Elham and Mark and Kaz. We had a lovely afternoon chatting. I made use of the shower. I returned via the main roads as I stopped at the supermarket for groceries.
